The company was founded by Matt, a PTA Dad who encountered the frustrations of managing spirit wear at his son's elementary school. With no experience in the apparel business, Matt found himself juggling boxes of spirit wear, handling inventory in his living room, and managing order forms, cash, checks, and size shortages. After school registration, there wasn’t even a simple way for parents to order more spirit wear.
Recognizing how cumbersome the process was, Matt knew there had to be a better way. He created an online store where parents could easily shop, select their sizes, and have spirit wear shipped directly to their homes. No more paper order forms, cash handling, or running out of sizes. This streamlined approach turned into a successful fundraiser for the school, and Matt soon realized he could help other schools across the U.S.
That’s when Spirit Hero was born. What started as a one-man operation running out of his living room has since grown into a team of 19 dedicated employees who all share the same mission. Today, we work with schools across the U.S., offering 24/7 stores with no minimums, as well as traditional flash sale group orders. Schools also have access to a custom dashboard where they can track sales and orders, view reports, track fundraising, and even edit their store—all from their own unique portal.
